What in the World is a Friend?

7 09 2011

The  Friends of the Library (FOL), Tremonton Chapter is a non-profit 501c(3) group of Bear River Valley community citizens who have the desire to promote the interest and to stimulate the growth and welfare of the Tremonton Public Library.

The group envisions the library as a cultural and educational asset to Tremonton and the Bear River Valley.  FOL, Tremonton Chapter hosts events and activities for the Library that will foster cultural awareness and community involvement, while supporting the resources, and promoting enjoyment of the Library.

FOL also conducts fundraisers for the Library to assist with needs beyond the scope of the Library budget.  At the center of FOL’s purpose is to fund the Summer Reading Program and improve upon the program each year.

Members pay annual dues, which are tax deductible.  Monies raised from the organization’s book sale, the poinsettia sale and other endeavors add funds to the Library for equipment, services and programs. We also accept book donations from the public.  Books can be dropped off at the Tremonton Public Library.

The Friends of the Library, Tremonton, Utah Chapter Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt organization registered under 501(c)(3) of Internal Revenue Code dedicated to supporting the Tremonton City Library, its mission and programs.

The FOL organization offers financial support for Library programs, community outreach and facilities improvements, through activities such as book sales and dues collection, ensuring that extra funding beyond the Library’s regular budget is safely protected and earmarked to enhance the Library’s services.

Tax deductible donations of time and money (through dues) allow FOL to advocate for library programs, underwrite the Summer Reading Programs which encourage kids and teens to read year round, and  support the spirit of volunteerism, advocacy and participation in community education through the Library.
